Winemaking has been in my family since 1904 when my great grandfather Samuele, founded Sebastiani Vineyards & Win ery. Now, the new generation of the Cuneo and Sebastiani families is applying the experience of our forefathers, incorporating modern techniques to create wines that showcase the unique regions of Sonoma. Our Sonoma County wines are multi-vineyard blends sourced from premium wine growing sites throughout the county. The long, cool 2005 vintage gave us a Merlot with lots of black cherry fruit and structure. The cherry and cranberry flavors pair well with port, Marinara sauce and veal piccata. Rating: Satisfied to Very Satisfied

This is one of my everyday favorites. It will not blow you away, but it is very consistent from vintage to vintage and I have not found anyone that dislikes this wine. As suggested on the label there is plenty of cherry fruit both on the nose and on the palate. At a price point  of $13.99 ($11.89 on sale), this is a solid wine that I can certainly recommend.
