OK .. so not much information on the label. This is not an inexpensive champagne (KL lists at $199/bottle), normally selling for over $150 (happy to say someone in the party got a great deal!). It usually is a mix of three outstanding vintages. My understanding is that this particular bottle was a mix of three vintages between 1994 and 2000.
Best way to say it is to explain that my wife is not partial to champagnes, normally not very interested at all. In this particular case she asked for another glass… enough said! Wonderful aromatics of citrus and tropical fruit followed by similar tastes in the mouth … and very very smooth. In addition, still quite lively – needed the heavy bottle to keep all the bubbles contained.
I have had other fine champagnes including Dom Perignon. For the money (assuming you can get a deal), this is likely the finest champagne I have tasted.
Rating: Very Satisfied to Ephipany:-)![]()
Highly recommended (keeping in mind that no wine’s taste can justify $200 bottle… at this price the enjoyment at its best needs to include the satisfaction of being able to purchase the wine in the first place
