Reilly’s Wines was established by the Ardill Family in 1993. Our philosophy is to produce low volumes of premium, hand-made wines from dry grown fruit from out 85 year old vineyard and adjoining properties in Watervale.
Reilly’s oldest vines, our 1919 Block Bushvine Grenache, produce the majority of the fruit for our Grenache Shiraz. Hand picked, open-fermentation, gentle basket pressing, and 15 months of oak maturization have produced a rich wine with sweet summer berries and stone fruit flavours with a hint of delicate spice. Previous vintages of our Grenache Shiraz have received accolades domestically and internationally, and have received several medals at major wine shows. Best enjoyed in moderation with good food and friends. Julie and Justin Ardill.
I initially tried this wine on a visit to Pennslyvania last year. I was so impressed that when I found it locally I had to try it again.
The label description is very close to my own notes with one exception: I wouldn’t worry about drinking in moderation .. .it was so good I hated to see the end of the bottle!
This is the second or third time I have tried this wine with consistent impression each time.
This wine is a solid thumbs up wine with very good QPR at a retail price of $18 / ($16.20 in a case or mixed case) This is a wine I would seek out and highly recommend.
