I have to say that, having been “into” wine for only the last 5 years, I quickly learned to ignore scores and labels. As a retailer, they are extremely important, of course, but nowadays I mostly look at the region or appellation. That's the biggest deciding factor. I don't even care about the varietal, I just want something new, hopefully from a region I haven't tried yet.
